Mirage Wood Products offers a wide variety of handcrafted spalted alder products

wood accessories.
 The business is located
on scenic Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, and is owned and managed
by Russ Hannay. Russ employs a process called "spalting" to enhance the hardwood
-- allowing the wood to reveal both its spalting pattern and a cross-section
of the tree's growth rings.
The resulting products
exhibit a rich mixture of red and brown earth tones, blended with streaks of
a lighter honey colour -- giving each unique piece a warm and weathered character.
